In 1994 Steve became a part of the North Penn Swimming and
Diving team. In his freshman year he lettered and made it
to states placing 12th. He received the Mark
Muller award for a promising freshman and NPHS Outstanding
Diver award. The next year, 1996 season, the accolades began
to accumulate. Once again he lettered, won the SOL league
Diving Championship; placed 3rd in the PIAA State
Swimming and Diving Championship; received the NPHS
Outstanding Diver award and the North Penn Athletic
Department Outstanding Sophomore Athlete Award and was NISCA
All American Honorable Mention – Diving. In 1997 Steve was
named Captain of the NPHS Swimming and Diving team, again he
lettered, won the SOL league Diving Championship and the
District 1 Diving Championship; placed 2nd in the
PIAA State Swimming and Diving Championship; received the
NPHS Outstanding Diver award, was NISCA All American –
Diving. Steve senior year he was once again named Captain
of North Penn Swimming and Diving Team, again he lettered,
won the SOL league Diving Championship and won the District
1 Diving Championship setting the record which stands today;
won the PIAA State Swimming and Diving Championship setting
the current State record; received the NPHS Outstanding
Diver award and the North Penn Athletic Department
Outstanding Senior Athlete Award; was NISCA All American –
Diving. In 1998, Steve received a scholarship to Penn State
University and continued his winning and record ways. At
Penn State he lettered all 4 years, was a member of the 2002
Penn State Big 10 Swimming and Diving Championship; held
team and pool records in 1 meter and 3 meter diving; was
NCAA All American 1 meter and Honorable Mention 3 meter and
received the Robert Galbraith Award for Penn State Most
Outstanding Diver.
