North Penn High School, 1997

Steve started swimming competitively at eight when his doctor suggested swimming to help prevent his scoliosis from getting worse over time. It worked, and he never looked back. Interestingly enough three of his Nor-Gwyn childhood teammates ended up on the Champion relays in 1997. You can say they had a slight advantage over the other teams by swimming together for 10 years.

Upon graduating from North Penn in 1997, Steve swam at Division III Grove City College and qualified to swim the 100 Backstroke at the NCAA Division III Championship in his freshman year. He also had the opportunity to help start Varsity Men and Women’s Water Polo Programs. Steve was recognized as a Division III All-American for Water Polo in 2000 and a Division III Academic All-American for Water Polo from 1999-2001. In his senior year, Steve was named the Grove City College Sportsman of the Year and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

After college, Steve joined Deloitte & Touche LLP and traveled from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to Fairfield, CT as his wife, Lindsay, completed medical training to become a Neonatologist. Steve still calls Fairfield home and now works for General Re. He spends most of his time raising triplets (Ashley, Christian and Zachary) with Lindsay and traveling with the family whenever possible.
