Rich is honored to be inducted into the North Penn Athletic Hall of Fame. He feels very privileged to have-been coached by Jim Crawford, Sr. Rich participated in basketball and track and field while attending North Penn High School, but decided to concentrate on track and field for his senior year. Rich broke many meet records in the discus, breaking a record which had been set in 1940.

Rich went to work in the construction field after graduation. He was drafted into the Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam Rich went back to the construction business where he formed his own company. Rich resided in Blue Bell for many years where he served on the Whitpain Town- ship Parks and Recreation Committee which he chaired for 10 years. He also was active in the Whitpain Recreation Association coaching his two sons in soccer and basketball.
Rich currently lives in Lewes, DE with his wife Grace.
