North Penn High School, 2003

As a young child, Matt displayed a natural aptitude and love of running and sprinting. However, he credits his coaches, teachers, and father with cultivating this interest into a true passion. Matt was fortunate to be a member of a team of talented runners and supportive coaches who helped to push him and encourage him in his athletic career.

During his tenure on both the North Penn High School Spring and Winter track teams, Matt experienced great success, which he carried to the East Stroudsburg University Warriors where he continued to break records in the 55 yard Dash as well as the 300 yard Dash. He sprinted the 55 yard Dash with a time of 6.42 seconds, breaking a record that had been standing at the school for 35 years. Matt remains in top three for the 300 yard dash with a time of 32.34. To this day, he holds the freshman record for both races.

Matt is truly honored to be inducted into the 2017 North Penn Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame. The esteemed honor of winning the Distance Medley Relay will always be a favorite memory. Matt appreciates that not only was his time spent with the track team a commitment for him, but also for his father who would travel to almost every meet and be cheering from the sidelines. He recognizes the time commitment and unyielding support his father offered during this time. Matt is very grateful for all of the people who gave him the love and support he needed to be where he is today.

Matt is employed at the North Wales Water Authority.  Matt, his wife Lara and their three children, Emmalee, Gabriel, and Violet reside in West Point. Matt loves that his job offers him an opportunity to give back to the community in which he grew up. He sends a lot of time coaching his children in their various sports and activities. He wishes to offer them the same support that he was given.  Matt is excited to watch his children compete in North Penn Athletics as well.
